Olán
It is a small town located in the foothills of the Talamanca mountain range on the Pacific side. It is a valley surrounded by mountains up to 3,000 meters high. It has a great variety of forests: rainy, cloudy, savanna, paramos (now in danger of extinction).
It is a very important hydrographic basin which gives rise to the Cabagra River (an important tributary of the Terraba River). It has a very marked climate between summer and winter, with summer being the time with the most variation in temperature (86° F during the day and can drop to 53°F at night).
For a long time the economy of the place was agriculture and livestock, but today thanks to the vision of some people including a foreigner who built a very unique place called the chapel in the clouds it has become known to the rest of the country as a tourist spot.
The chapel in the clouds, added to the great natural beauty and the preserved forests, have made visitors surprised by the wonders of this site.
